Article banks collect, review, and index articles submitted by the authors. Accepted articles are then offered to ezines and bloggers for free republishing with credit to the author and a link back to his website.

Most article banks restrict the backlink to your main domain and prohibit affiliate links in your bio and resource box.

Google and other search engines sometimes penalize duplicate content, but I have not seen any negative effects on listings when posting to a number of article banks.

To make posting easier, I use RoboForm and the custom field names. You can submit to most article banks with one click.

Just create a new identity for each article. If you decide later to post to additional article banks, you have the information saved and available for immediate use.
